We are Johan and Ilse, and a few years ago, we left Belgium to pursue our dreams in the enchanting town of Barichara, Colombia.
Finca Buenavista is the result of our passion for creating a place where travelers can feel at home while discovering the magic of this incredible region. With love and care, we’ve designed our B&B to reflect the charm of Barichara and the breathtaking beauty of its surroundings. ABOUT US
We’ve always dreamed of opening a small-scale B&B – at first, we thought it would be in Italy, a country we loved dearly. But life had other plans… During a visit to Colombia to see a childhood friend of Johan, something magical happened. We fell in love – not just with the breathtaking landscapes, but with the rich culture and the warmth of the Colombian people.
It was during one of those trips that we stumbled upon the house of our dreams, nestled near Barichara, one of the most beautiful villages in Colombia. It felt as though the house had been patiently waiting for us, like a hidden treasure destined to become part of our story.
And so, we took the leap, following our hearts. What once was a distant dream blossomed into the beautiful reality we now call ‘home’. Today, we are living in this incredible country, surrounded by nature’s beauty and the kindness of its people.
